Board Members

The Board of Tax Appeals consists of three members: a chairman and two associate members. Members of the Board are appointed by the Governor to six-year terms. Each member of the Board must be a qualified elector, have a bachelor’s degree and a special knowledge of taxation and revenue.

Chairman

Sara M. Fox of Brandon, MS, was appointed by Governor Phil Bryant to begin her term on July 1, 2012 as an associate board member. Effective July 1, 2016, Mrs. Fox began a new term as Chairman of the Board. She has practiced law in the areas of estate planning, probate law and business transactions. Mrs. Fox holds an accounting degree from Mississippi State, a law degree from Ole Miss and a Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University School of Law.

Associate Member

William G. (Will Green) Poindexter III of Inverness, MS, was appointed by Governor Phil Bryant to begin his term on July 1, 2014. He is the former mayor of Inverness, former Mississippi House Representative for District 31, serving from 1979 to 1991, and was a legislative liaison for Governor Kirk Fordice. Currently, Mr. Poindexter engages in farming and other varies business ventures. He holds a B.A. degree from Mississippi State.

Associate Member

John M. Robinson of Tupelo, MS, was appointed by Governor Phil Bryant to the board effective July 1, 2016. Mr. Robinson was a partner in a regional CPA firm for over 30 years and was an officer in a regional bank’s wealth management department. He is actively involved in his real estate holdings and other business interests. Mr. Robinson graduated from Mississippi State with an accounting degree.
